Fire Weather Warning
Expires 2:00 AM EDT on July 10, 2008

Statement as of 11:21 PM PDT on July 8, 2008

... Red flag warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Wednesday...

Another day of temperatures in the 100-115 degree range are
expected on Wednesday as an impressive upper level ridge remains
over the region.

Little change in the airmass and winds are expected through
Wednesday with north to northeast winds during the nighttime and
early morning hours promoting dry conditions across the area...
especially across ridge tops. This will bring another night of
extremely poor nighttime rh recoveries tonight... and daytime
relative humidities dropping into the low teens and single digits
on Wednesday.

A slight increase in onshore flow late Wednesday into Thursday
will bring slightly rh values and better nighttime recoveries to
coastal and near coastal ridgetops.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures will
create explosive fire growth potential.
