... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 5 am to 11 PM PDT Friday...

* what... moderate to heavy snow expected. In the warning area,
total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches, with localized
amounts of up to 18 inches. In the advisory area, total snow
accumulation of 3 to 7 inches, with local amounts of up to 10

* Where... warning for elevation above 4000 feet, including Highway
89 between McCloud and Mount Shasta city. Advisory for below
4000 feet, including Interstate 5 near Mount Shasta city and
Dunsmuir, and Highway 89 between Macdoel and Weed, and the
Tennant area.

* When... 5 am to 11 PM PDT Friday.

* Additional details... travel will be very difficult, including
during the evening commute on Friday. Be prepared for
significant reductions in visibility at times.

* travel is strongly discouraged because of dangerous conditions.

* If you must travel, keep tire chains, a flashlight, blankets,
food, water, medications, and a fully charged phone with you.
