to 9 am CST Wednesday...

expected late this afternoon through Wednesday morning. Total
snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches expected late this afternoon
through Wednesday morning. Total ice accumulations of one tenth
to two tenths of an inch expected this afternoon and evening.

* Where... Lee and DeKalb counties.

* When... from 9 am this morning to 9 am CST Wednesday.

* Additional details... plan on slippery Road conditions. The
hazardous conditions will impact the evening commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* flood advisory for
the Rock River at Dixon.
* Until Friday evening.
* At 615 PM Monday the stage was 13.1 feet and was ice affected.
* Action stage is 13.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 13.8 feet by Tuesday
morning. Ice jams can result in rapid rises in water levels with
little or no warning.

... Drifting and blowing snow affecting area roads...

Winds gusting to 30 mph have led to snow blowing and drifting
across some roadways in open and rural areas. Snow covered or
partially covered roadways have been observed. Blowing and
drifting snow will remain possible through the rest of the night.
If driving, be alert for snow covered roads and reduced
visibility. Be sure to slow down and allow more time for travel.
