Flash Flood Warning
Issued: 4:46 AM CDT Sep. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 800 am CDT for
Rock Island... southern Scott and Muscatine counties...

At 437 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rain with
some embedded thunder over the warned area. The immediate threat for
flash flooding has subsided due to the weakening of storms. However,
additional thunderstorms occurring over southeast Iowa are moving
north, and if they hold together would move back across portions of
the warned area by around 6 am. Even though the threat for heavy
rain has temporarily diminished, early morning commuters should
remain alert for lingering high water on area roadways.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Davenport, Moline, Rock Island, Bettendorf, Muscatine, East Moline,
Durant, Silvis, Eldridge, Milan, Coal Valley, West Liberty, Wilton,
Walcott, Blue Grass, Buffalo, Andalusia, Reynolds, Riverdale and Oak
Grove.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
