Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 4:02 PM CST Jan. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until midnight CST
tonight...

* what... snow. Additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches.
Several locations have already received 6 to 9 inches across
portions of Wayne, Carter and Ripley counties. However, the snow
will diminish rapidly over the next hour, so no upgrade to a
warning is planned at this time. Winds will gust as high as 40
mph.

* Where... portions of southeast Missouri, western Kentucky and
southern Illinois.

* When... until midnight CST tonight.

* Additional details... plan on extremely hazardous travel
conditions. The strong winds and heavy snow rates will cause
extremely low visibilities. There have already been numerous
accidents reported.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.

Flood Warning
Issued: 9:25 AM CST Jan. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Hazleton.
* From Sunday afternoon to Monday January 28.
* There have been no observations in the last 24 hours.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... it is forecast to rise above flood stage Sunday
afternoon, crest at 19.3 feet Wednesday afternoon, and then fall
below flood stage by Monday January 28.
* At 19.0 feet... flood waters cover the Hazleton softball field.
Pottsville Road is underwater and impassable.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Petersburg.
* From Sunday morning to Monday January 28.
* At 9:30 am Saturday the stage was 11.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Sunday morning and continue to
rise to near 18.3 feet by Wednesday evening. It will fall below
flood stage by Sunday January 27.
* At 18.0 feet... lowland flooding begins to flood several Pike County
roads. Many of the following County roads begin to flood around
this level... east of sr 57 include CR 750n... CR 600n and CR 1000e.
Pike County Road subject to flooding west of sr 57 include... CR 250
W... CR 400w... CR 675n... CR 700 N... CR 1000w... CR 900w... CR 700w
and CR 775w.
