Flood Warning

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Clarksville ld24
* from Friday afternoon to Monday evening.
* At 10:30 am Tuesday the stage was 22.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* The river is forecast to rise above flood stage by Friday afternoon
and crest near 25.3 feet by Saturday morning.The river will fall
below flood stage by Sunday evening.
* Impact: at 25.5 feet... State Route p east of Elsberry begins
flooding just east of the levee.
* Impact: at 25.3 feet... the Road to port Marmac, about 15 homes just
south of Clarksville, begins flooding.

... Heat advisory in effect from noon to 8 PM CDT Wednesday...

The National Weather Service in Saint Louis has issued a heat
advisory, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM CDT Wednesday.

* Timing... Wednesday afternoon and early evening.

* Heat index values... between 105 and 110 during the afternoon and
early evening.

* Impacts... the combination of hot temperatures and high
humidity will likely lead to an increased risk of heat-
related stress and illness. The very Young, the elderly, those
without air conditioning, and those participating in strenuous
outdoor activities will be the most susceptible. Also, car
interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of
minutes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures and high
humidity will occur. This combination will create a situation in
which heat-related illnesses are possible, especially for those
living in un-air conditioned homes or apartments. People in the
advisory area are advised to avoid poorly ventilated areas and
prolonged work in the sun. Also, keep plenty of liquids on hand
and try to stay in an air conditioned environment.
