Now Light to moderate snow continues to move across portions of northeast Illinois this afternoon...but with an enhanced area of more moderate to possibly heavy snow at times currently developing over the lake and Cook County shores. This will continue to develop with snow intensity increasing into the early evening. With strong northerly winds and blowing snow...visibility could be reduced significantly with one quarter mile or less visibility possible at times. Area travelers should use caution late this afternoon into the early evening as conditions will quickly become hazardous with snow likely accumulating on area roadways. | ||||

Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph at times. Chance of precipitation 100 percent. Saturday Mostly sunny. Highs around 20. Wind chills as low as zero to 10 below zero.
