... Winter Weather Advisory in effect until 6 PM CST this
evening...

* what... lake effect snow occurring. Plan on difficult travel
conditions, including during the morning commute. In addition,
reductions to visibility are expected. Snow accumulations of 1
to 3 inches, with localized amounts up to 5 inches, are
expected.

* Where... La Porte County.

* When... until 6 PM CST this evening.

* Additional details... winds gusting to 35 to 40 mph will cause
areas of blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for lake effect snow Means Lake effect
snow is forecast that will make travel difficult in some areas.
Use caution when traveling. The latest Road conditions for the
state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.




Lakeshore Flood Advisory

... Lakeshore flood advisory remains in effect until 4 PM EST
/3 PM CST/ this afternoon...

* Lake Shore flooding... minor Lakeshore flooding and beach
erosion will be possible as northwest winds of 35 to 45 mph
will generate waves of 12 to 16 feet.

* Timing... through the day.

* Impacts... the combination of high waves, strong onshore winds
and high water levels will result in some beach erosion and
minor flooding along the Lakeshore. The high waves will wash
over piers and jetties creating dangerous conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore flood advisory indicates that onshore winds will
generate flooding of low areas along the Lakeshore.
