The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Grant County in central Indiana
Blackford County in east central Indiana
Jay County in east central Indiana
southeastern Wabash County in North Central Indiana
southern Huntington County in Northeast Indiana
southern Wells County in Northeast Indiana

* until 1145 am EDT Saturday

* at 1144 am EDT National Weather Service Doppler radar and spotter
reports indicated that between 6 and 10 inches of rain had fallen
across the warning area over the past 24 hours... with most of the
rainfall since last evening. Runoff from this heavy rainfall will
continue to result in widespread flooding through Saturday morning.

Some towns that may experience flooding include Fairmount... Gas
City... Marion... Upland... Dunkirk... Portland and Hartford City.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. Most flooding deaths occur in automobiles. Turn around don't
drown!

The National Weather Service in northern Indiana has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Salamonie river below Warren
* until late Sunday night.
* At 9 am Friday the stage was 10.9 feet and rising.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage Friday morning and
crest near 16.2 feet around 8 am Saturday August 23 and fall below
flood stage around 4 am Sunday August 24.
* At 12.0 feet... the river reaches flood stage with minor flooding of
low agricultural land and roads nearest the river.
