... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM CST this
afternoon...

* winds... northwest around 30 mph with gusts near 40 mph.

* Timing... of the strongest winds will be from around dawn on
Saturday morning through early afternoon.

* Impacts... include strong and sudden wind gusts and potential
for hazardous travel for high profile vehicles due to cross-
winds on east-west oriented roads and highways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of at least 30 mph
and/or wind gusts over 45 mph are expected. Winds this strong
can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Use extra caution.

In 1955, an incredibly powerful early season cold snap
finally ended for the northern rockies and northern
plains. Helena Montana chilled out with 6 consecutive
days of sub-zero temperatures, with the coldest lows
tumbling into thermal abysses of 29 below zero on the
15th and 25 below on the 16th.Also on the 16th,
Missoula shattered their coldest temperature ever
recorded in November by 12 degrees with a low of 23 below
zero.
