... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through Monday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Louisiana, including the following
areas, Orleans, St. Charles, St. John The Baptist, upper
Jefferson, upper Plaquemines, and upper St. Bernard.

* Through Monday evening

* periods of torrential rain rates at times reaching 5 inches
per hour in short duration. Accumulations generally 1 to 3
inches possible within 1 to 2 hours.

* Rapid ponding and swelling of ditches to cause street flooding
during periods of torrential rainfall. Flooding may linger for
an hour or two after ending while drainage systems mitigate
the excessive rain rates.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
