The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
Baltimore City in northern Maryland...
northern Anne Arundel County in central Maryland...
Howard County in central Maryland...
southern Baltimore County in northern Maryland...

* until 1015 am EDT Sunday.

* At 342 am EDT, the heaviest rain has exited the area, but creeks
and streams remain elevated due to previous rainfall. Numerous
roads are closed due to high water. Doppler radar estimated that
between 3 and 5 inches of rain has fallen across the area.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Baltimore, Columbia, Severn, Annapolis, Pikesville, Crofton, Middle
River, Elkridge, Riviera Beach, Baltimore-Washington Airport, Fort
Smallwood State Park, Gibson Island, Sillery Bay, Millers Island,
North Point State Park, Sparrows Point, Pinehurst, Bodkin Point,
Back River and Glen Burnie.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has extended the

* Flood Warning for...
southern Anne Arundel County in central Maryland...
northwestern Calvert County in southern Maryland...
southeastern Prince Georges County in central Maryland...
Charles County in southern Maryland...
King George County in central Virginia...

* until 830 am EDT Sunday.

* At 1054 PM EDT, numerous roads are closed due to high water.
Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall amounts between 4 and 8
inches across most of the warned area. Additional rainfall amounts
up to an inch are expected. Numerous creeks and streams have risen
out of their banks and flooding is expected to continue overnight.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Waldorf, Bowie, Annapolis, Clinton, Crofton, largo, La Plata, Mayo,
Shady Side, Chesapeake Beach, Deale, naval Academy, King George,
Dahlgren, Prince Frederick, Upper Marlboro, Fairview Beach,
Nanjemoy creek, Severn River and South River.

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect until 5 am EDT early
this morning...

* locations... shoreline in Anne Arundel County.

* Tidal departure... between one and one and a half feet above
normal.

* Timing... around the time of high tide early Sunday morning.
High tide at Annapolis will be at 2:25 am.

* Impacts... water is expected to pond in the parking lot at
Annapolis city dock, causing parking restrictions in the area.
Minor shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is
possible elsewhere.


Forecast tides are referenced to mean lower low water
(mllw) and mean higher high water (mhhw) unless
otherwise noted. Time of high total tide is
approximate to nearest hour. Total tide combines the
normal tide and departure from normal. Flood impact
is based on the total tide and waves where applicable.
