Watches & Warnings

Blizzard Warning
Issued: 9:11 PM EST Feb. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Blizzard Warning remains in effect from 7 am Sunday to 7 am
EST Monday...

* what... blizzard conditions expected. Winds gusting 40 to 60
mph will cause whiteout conditions in blowing snow.
Significant drifting of the snow is likely. Total snow
accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized amounts up to 8
inches, are expected.

* Where... portions of northern lower Michigan.

* When... snow will begin between 7 am and 10 am Sunday. Worst
conditions are expected from midday Sunday to 7 am Monday.

* Additional details... travel will be very dangerous to
impossible. Damage to trees and power lines is likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Blizzard Warning means severe winter weather conditions are
expected or occurring. Falling and blowing snow with strong winds
and poor visibilities are likely. This will lead to whiteout
conditions, making travel extremely dangerous. Do not travel. If
you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get
stranded, stay with your vehicle.
