Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 9:11 PM EST Feb. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Monday...

* what... light snow will change to freezing rain later tonight,
then all rain toward morning as temperatures climb above
freezing. Precipitation will change back to snow later Sunday
with accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, with localized amounts up
to 9 inches. Ice accumulations tonight from one tenth to four
tenths of an inch are expected.

* Where... Chippewa and Mackinac counties.

* When... until 7 am EST Monday.

* Additional details... power outages and tree damage are likely
due to the ice. Travel conditions will be poor tonight due to
icy roads... and will become dangerous to nearly impossible
Sunday afternoon in falling and blowing snow. Damage to trees
and power lines is likely. Winds gusting from 40 to 60 mph
will cause widespread blowing and drifting snow.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet
and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Strong
winds are also expected.
