Wind Chill Advisory
Issued: 11:59 PM MST Feb. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 1 PM MST Monday...

* what... dangerously cold wind chills expected. Expect wind
chills as low as 20 below zero.

* Where... Missoula/Bitterroot valleys.

* When... until 1 PM MST Monday.

* Additional details... the cold wind chills could cause
frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will
combine to create low wind chills. Frostbite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and
gloves.





Avalanche Warning
Issued: 5:53 AM MST Feb. 18, 2018 – National Weather Service

The following message is transmitted at the request of the Forest
service west central Montana avalanche center Missoula Mt

Missoula Mt has issued a backcountry avalanche warning...

* timing... in effect until 6 am MST Monday.

* Affected area... the southern missions, southern Swan,
rattlesnake, and Bitterroot ranges.

* Avalanche danger... the avalanche danger for the warning area is
high today.

* Reason/impacts... recent heavy snow combined with strong wind
will result in widespread avalanche activity.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Very dangerous avalanche conditions exist. Large avalanches will
be possible in many areas. Travel in avalanche terrain is not
recommended.
