Watches & Warnings

Special Statement
Issued: 6:32 PM MST Dec. 17, 2017 – National Weather Service

... After a mild first half of December... wintry weather will make
a return to western and central North Dakota...

Light snow is expected across much of northwest and north central
North Dakota on Monday, generally north of North Dakota Highway
200. Rain may mix with the snow during the afternoon. Snowfall
accumulations of generally around an inch or less are expected for
most locations.

There is the potential for greater and more widespread snowfall
accumulations Tuesday night through Wednesday night. At this
time, the greatest snowfall potential is across northwest and
north central North Dakota, with lower amounts across the south.
However, uncertainty in potential snowfall totals remains.

For Thursday through Christmas, much colder temperatures are
favored as an Arctic airmass may overtake the region. Dangerous
sub-zero wind chills are possible, especially this coming weekend
through at least Christmas. Those with travel plans should stay up
to date at www.Weather.Gov/Bismarck.
