... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 11 am PDT this morning
through Tuesday evening...

The National Weather Service in Elko has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of Nevada, north central
Nevada, northeast Nevada, northwest Nevada, and south central
Nevada, including the following areas, in Nevada, Ruby
Mountains/East Humboldt Range. In north central Nevada,
northern Lander County and northern Eureka County. In
northeast Nevada, northern Elko County, south central Elko
County, southeastern Elko County, and southwestern Elko
County. In northwest Nevada, Humboldt County. In south central
Nevada, northwestern Nye County.

* From 11 am PDT this morning through Tuesday evening

* a strong push of monsoon moisture will deepen across central
Nevada on Monday. Very heavy rainfall will create an
environment supportive of flash flooding during the afternoon
and evening.

* Areas most prone to flash flooding include small creeks and
streams in and near the higher terrain, wildfire burn scars,
and normally dry washes. Rock slides and debris/water flows
over roadways are possible. Low lying areas, where some roads
are, will be susceptible to flooding as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
