Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 3:14 PM EST Dec. 11, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning in effect from 10 PM this evening to 6 PM
EST Wednesday...

* what... heavy snow expected. Plan on difficult travel conditions,
including during the commute on Tuesday and Wednesday. Snow
accumulations of 1 to 4 inches through Tuesday morning. Then an
additional 5 to 9 inches Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday.
Bringing storm total snow between 6 to 13 inches by late
Wednesday afternoon.

* Where... Seneca, southern Cayuga, Cortland and Chenango
counties.

* When... from 10 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Wednesday.

* Additional details... the first portion of the storm will bring a
period of light to moderate snow tonight. There will be a lull
in the snow late Tuesday morning, before an Arctic frontal
boundary moves through bringing snow squalls Tuesday afternoon,
then periods of heavy lake effect snow Tuesday night and
Wednesday. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will cause areas of
blowing and drifting snow late Tuesday night and especially on
Wednesday.
