The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a beach
hazards statement, which is in effect from 6 am EDT Wednesday
through Wednesday afternoon.

* Locations... beaches of Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne,
northern Cayuga, Oswego, and Jefferson counties.

* Timing... from late tonight through early Wednesday evening.

* Impacts... strong currents and dangerous swimming conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazards statement is issued when there is a high swim
risk. This means life threatening waves and currents are
expected. Stay out of the water and stay away from dangerous
areas like piers and breakwalls.
