The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* flood advisory for...
Kingfisher County in central Oklahoma...
Blaine County in northwestern Oklahoma...
southwestern Garfield County in northern Oklahoma...
southeastern Major County in northwestern Oklahoma...

* until 245 PM CDT.

* At 1143 am CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Watonga, Kingfisher, Hennessey, Okeene, Cashion, Canton, Dover,
Longdale, Hitchcock, Loyal, Canton Lake, Eagle City, Homestead,
Southard, Omega and Lacey.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over
the area. This additional rain may result in localized flash
flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots. Turn around, don't
drown.


Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
