Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 7:34 PM EST Jan. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 PM EST Sunday...

* what... heavy mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations
of 5 to 12 inches and ice accumulations up to two tenths of an
inch. Higher snow accumulations will be along the twin tiers and
into Delaware County New York. Higher ice accumulations will be
across northeast Pennsylvania and into Sullivan County New York.
Winds gusting as high as 40 mph on Sunday.

* Where... in Pennsylvania, southern Wayne, Bradford,
Susquehanna, Pike, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wyoming and northern
Wayne counties. In New York, Sullivan, Tioga, Broome and
Delaware counties.

* When... until 4 PM EST Sunday. The heaviest snow is expected this
evening, when snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour are
possible. Snow will change to freezing rain, sleet and rain
around midnight in the Poconos and during the overnight hours in
the southern tier eastward into the southern Catskills. The
wintry mix will change back over to snow before tapering off
late Sunday morning and afternoon.

* Additional details... travel will be very difficult to
impossible. Also, winds will pick up considerably Sunday
afternoon, causing blowing snow and dangerously low wind chills
into Sunday night.
