... The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for southwestern Kane County will
expire at 130 PM MDT...

the storm which prompted the warning has weakened below severe
limits, and no longer poses an immediate threat to life or property.
Therefore, the warning will be allowed to expire. However small hail
and heavy rain are still possible with this thunderstorm.

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
East Central Washington County in southwestern Utah...
west central Kane County in southern Utah...

* until 500 PM MDT

* at 1255 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated a line of thunderstorms
producing heavy rain over Orderville, behunin, and echo canyons.
These areas flow into the North Fork of the Virgin river through
Zion National Park. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Radar rainfall estimates include over an inch of rainfall in the
headwaters of these canyons.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Zion National Park.

* If you are moving through any of these drainages, please take
action to ensure your safety.

north central Garfield County in southern Utah...
western Wayne County in southern Utah...

* until 300 PM MDT

* at 1200 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain over Capitol Reef National Park. Flash flooding is
expected to begin shortly in the Freemont river and Deep Creek
basins.

* Radar estimates up to .8 inches of rain has fallen in less than an
hour.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Capitol Reef National Park, the Freemont river and Deep Creek.

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from noon MDT today through this
evening...

The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for much of the area east of I-15 and south of
Highway 40. This includes Zion National Park, Capitol Reef
National Park and Glen Canyon Recreation Area.

* From noon MDT today through this evening

* numerous showers and thunderstorms are forecast to develop along
The Spine of the mountains and across the eastern Utah valleys
today. This activity has the potential to bring heavy rainfall.

* Flash flooding is a significant concern near burn scars, Slick
Rock, slot canyons and normally dry washes. Flooding and debris
flows may impact travel.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

At 129 PM MDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 15 miles northeast
of Boulder to 11 miles north of Big Water... and moving east at 25
mph.

Half inch hail and wind gusts of 40 to 55 mph will be possible.

Locations impacted include...
Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and Lake Powell.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

If threatening weather approaches, take shelter in a sturdy building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
