... Forecast flooding increased from minor to moderate severity... the
Flood Warning continues for
the Potomac River at Little Falls.
* Until Tuesday evening.
* At 2 PM Sunday the stage was 7.6 feet and steady.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by overnight tonight and crest
near 12.5 feet by early tomorrow afternoon. The river will fall
below flood stage by early Tuesday afternoon.
* Impact... at 12.0 feet... the c&o canal overflows at the Great Falls
tavern. Water covers the towpath in many areas.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 12.4 feet
on Jun 5 2018.

* Flood Warning for...
southwestern Fairfax County in northern Virginia...
east central Fauquier County in northern Virginia...
the city of Manassas Park in northern Virginia...
central Prince William County in northern Virginia...
the city of Manassas in northern Virginia...

* until 730 PM EST Sunday.

* At 1246 PM EST, the Prince William County and Fauquier County 911
centers reported several roads still closed due to high water.
Stream gauges also indicated flooding is still occurring. Some
locations include Manassas Park and Aden.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...
Centreville, Dale City, Warrenton, Woodbridge, Lake ridge, Linton
Hall, Chantilly, Lorton, Bull Run, Haymarket, Manassas, Sudley,
Manassas Park, Fairfax Station, Gainesville, New Baltimore,
Independent Hill, Mason Neck, Nokesville and Occoquan.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
