... Red flag warning in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM EDT
this evening for gusty winds and low relative humidity for
portions of western and lower southern Maryland... northern Virginia
and the eastern Panhandle of West Virginia...

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a
red flag warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity... which
is in effect from 11 am this morning to 8 PM EDT this evening.
The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Humidity... 20 to 30 percent late this morning through early this

* Winds... northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* Fuel moisture... less than 8 percent.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
