... Air quality alert in effect until noon PDT Wednesday...

The Washington state department of ecology has issued an air quality
alert... in effect until noon PDT Wednesday for the following
counties in central, south central and southeast washington:

Benton
Columbia
Franklin
Kittitas
Klickitat
Walla Walla
Yakima

Unhealthy to very unhealthy air will be common across central, south
central and southeastern Washington due to local and regional
wildfires currently burning. Moderate to unhealthy air is expected.

Children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory illnesses
are most at risk of serious health effects. If you experience
respiratory distress, you should speak with your physician.

Fire activity will continue to be monitored. Some improvement in
ventilation will be possible toward the end of the week. The air
quality alert will be reassessed on Wednesday for the rest of the
week based on these trends and upcoming weather conditions.
