The National Weather Service in La Crosse has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Clayton County in northeastern Iowa...
Fayette County in northeastern Iowa...
Grant County in southwestern Wisconsin...
southwestern Crawford County in southwestern Wisconsin...

* until 845 am CDT.

* At 246 am CDT, local law enforcement reported County roads with
water or debris across them, water covering some bridges in low
lying areas, and some shoulder washouts along roadways. In
addition, many smaller creeks are running high or flooding,
causing further flooding hazards. Up to an additional inch of
rainfall is possible through daybreak.

This warning replaces the flash flood warnings that were in effect
for portions of this area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Platteville, Oelwein, Prairie Du Chien, Lancaster, West Union,
Guttenberg, Elkader, Fennimore, Monona, Fayette, Strawberry Point,
Dickeyville, McGregor, Garnavillo, Clermont and Maynard.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency when you
can do so safely.
