northern Gallia County in southeastern Ohio...
Jackson County in southeastern Ohio...
southeastern Athens County in southeastern Ohio...
Vinton County in southeastern Ohio...
northwestern Mason County in western West Virginia...

* until 215 PM EDT.

* At 1035 am EDT, the department of highways reported flooding of
several roads across the area. This includes areas along Raccoon
Creek.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Jackson, Wellston, Point Pleasant, Gallipolis, Pomeroy, McArthur,
Oak Hill, Rio Grande, Racine, Coolville, Rutland, New Haven, Mason,
Tuppers Plains, Middleport, Chester, Hamden, Syracuse, Hartford
City and Coalton.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate Route.

Please report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling
toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
