... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 6 PM EDT this evening through
late tonight...

The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of western Virginia and
northeast West Virginia... including the following areas... in
western Virginia... eastern Highland and western Highland. In
northeast West Virginia... eastern Pendleton and western

* From 6 PM EDT this evening through late tonight

* heavy showers with isolated thunderstorms will overspread the
region tonight. Local downpours are likely... especially this
evening through early Monday morning... with between one and
three inches expected.

* Due to wet antecedent conditions and heavy rains expected
tonight... potential exists for flash flooding to occur on small
streams... creeks and urban areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
