Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 9:20 AM MDT May. 24, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
central Fremont County in central Wyoming...

* until 900 am MDT Saturday

* minor flooding of low lying areas along the Wind River from DuNoir
valley downstream to the black bridge area near Riverton through
Saturday morning.

* At 830 am, the Wind River near DuBois was around 4.8 feet. The
river is expected rise and fluctuate near the minor flood stage of
5.0 feet for the next two days. Minor flooding of low lying areas
at and around DuBois usually occurs at the 5.0 foot level.

* At 830 am, the Wind River at Riverton crested at around 8.5 feet.
The river is expected to steadily rise to near minor flood stage
of 9.0 feet by early Friday morning--then fluctuate around 9.0 to
9.2 feet through early Saturday morning. Minor flooding of low
lying areas near the black bridge area usually occurs at river
stages of 9.0 to 9.5 feet.

* Much warmer mountain temperatures Friday and Saturday and rain
showers on Sunday should cause even sharper rises along the Wind
River for the Memorial Day weekend. This advisory will most likely
be upgraded to a Flood Warning with the expected much higher river
flows.
