Synopsis For Long Island Waters And New York Harbor
High pressure will pass east of the waters this morning...while a cold front approaches from the Great Lakes. The cold front moves through the waters by midday Tuesday. A strong coastal low then develops along the mid Atlantic coast Wed night into Thu. The low is forecast to track slowly southeast into the upcoming weekend... while high pressure builds in behind it.

Tonight
SW winds 5 to 10 kt. Waves 1 ft or less.

NW winds around 5 kt...becoming N in the afternoon. Waves 1 ft or less.
Tue Night
N winds 5 to 10 kt...increasing to 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt after midnight. Waves 1 ft or less...then 1 to 2 ft after midnight. A chance of rain after midnight.

N winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts up to 20 kt. Waves 1 to 2 ft.
