Lake Wind Advisory, Freeze Watch
Expires 9:00 AM CDT on November 01, 2014

Statement as of 10:05 PM CDT on October 30, 2014

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 9 am to 7 PM CDT Friday...
... Freeze watch remains in effect from late Friday night through
Saturday morning...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a lake
Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 9 am to 7 PM CDT Friday.
A freeze watch remains in effect from late Friday night through
Saturday morning.

* Event... north to northwest winds at 15 to 25 mph are expected on
Friday... with gusts to 30 mph in places. Winds will decrease
Friday night... with temperatures approaching freezing in the
central third of the state.

* Areas affected... the lake Wind Advisory is in effect for much of
Arkansas except the southwest. The freeze watch includes
locations from Mena to Little Rock and Brinkley northward... and
south of Cave City... Clinton and Booneville.

* Impacts... strong winds Friday will create hazardous conditions
on area bodies of water. Where freezing conditions occur Friday
night... this will kill plants and tender vegetation left
outdoors without protection.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A freeze watch means sub-freezing temperatures are possible.
These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
Frost will also be possible in the watch area.

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
