The East Coast sea breeze will push inland across the coastal counties and into the interior through early evening. Scattered lightning storms will affect areas around Lake Okeechobee from Indiantown and Port Mayaca to Okeechobee city as the sea breeze interacts with the lake breeze. Farther north...scattered lightning storms will develop over Volusia...North Brevard...Seminole...Orange and lake counties where there is some upper support. There is enough westerly steering flow to push some of the storms off the Volusia coast which will be a hazard to boaters on the intracoastal or Atlantic waters. Much like yesterday...storm motion will be slow and erratic this afternoon and early evening. There will also be the chance for strong to isolated severe storms with damaging wind gusts...large hail to around one inch or so in diameter...frequent lightning...and torrential rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches in a 60 to 90 minute period. The threat for dangerous rip currents will be high along the Volusia and Brevard County beaches...and moderate along the Treasure Coast beaches of Indian River...Saint Lucie and Martin counties. Remember to swim only within sight of a lifeguard today...and never swim alone. Kelly Additional details...including graphics are available online at: http://www.Weather.Gov/mlb/?N=blog
