Forecast as of 6:30 PM MDT on September 7, 2008

Now

Through the early evening...isolated showers and thunderstorms will continue to become more disorganized over north central New Mexico. The strongest storm activity will favor the northeast Highlands... just east of the Interstate 25 corridor where storms will impact the rural communities surrounding Wagon Mound and east of Watrous. Movement will be to the east and northeast at speeds of 10 to 15 mph. A few of the stronger storms will produce wind gusts up to 55 mph with moderate to briefly heavy rain...occasional cloud to ground lightning and possibly small hail. Heavy downpours over Mora and northern San Miguel counties will create fast flows in arroyos... and will allow water to pond on roadways and nearby ditches.
