At 530 am...scattered showers and thunderstorms were moving east- southeast across portions of southwest and south central Alabama and will move into parts of the western Florida Panhandle later this morning. Showers and storms are expected to continue affecting the region through 8 am this morning. Strongest storms will initially be over southern portions of Covington County of southwest Alabama through 6 am...and will move into northern sections of Okaloosa County Florida after 6 am. Additional storms...some strong...will be possible across the region through 8 am. Dangerous cloud to ground lightning...gusty winds up to 30 50 35 mph and brief heavy rainfall will be possible with any of the storms. Movement of the activity will continue to be toward the east-southeast at 25 to 30 mph.
