Now Through 9 am...areas of moderate to heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms will move across the Outer Banks. The heaviest showers will be concentrated in two areas...north of Oregon Inlet and Hatteras Island from Avon south and Ocracoke Island. Additional rainfall amounts are expected to be between a quarter and half inch. Ponding of water on roadways and low lying areas will continue to be a concern...especially across the northern Outer Banks where very heavy rain fell overnight. Motorist are urged to slow down to prevent hydroplaning. |
