The Gulf is getting attention once again for the potential of tropical development is increasing. Heavy showers and storms expected, regardless.

A monster fire vortex was seen spinning at the Deer Creek Fire in southeastern Utah. A fire truck was damaged by the storm, which happens when the vortex sucks up fire into the cloud above. Luckily, no injuries have been reported in relation to this event, but the Deer Creek Fire has grown substantially to roughly 20 square miles.

Storms stalled over huge swaths of the Northeast Monday evening, causing intense rains that led to flash flooding. Floodwaters caused subway, bus and airline delays and dozens of people had to be rescued.

These sweets are sure to pair well with America's national pastime.

The majority of the country is facing a warm and dry end to summer and beginning to fall, but hopefully the Gulf Coast is excited for a cooler and damper outlook.
