The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from 10 AM to 9 PM MDT today and Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect for Tuesday. * AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West Central Mountains (Zone 105), Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109), North Central Mountains (Zone 120), and the Upper Rio Grande and Lower Chama River Valleys (Zone 121) from 10 AM until 9 PM today and Tuesday. * 20 FOOT WINDS...For today, west and northwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. For Tuesday, west 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For today, minimum values between 7 and 18 percent. For Tuesday, between 5 and 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... ...FLOOD ADVISORY FOR SNOWMELT IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE... * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt is expected. * WHERE...Rio Chama Below Abiquiu Dam. * WHEN...From this afternoon until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 4.8 feet, Bankfull Stage. Approximately 1460 cfs. Houses near Highway 84 along river will see water begin to encroach their yards. Cattle that cross the river at lower flows may be trapped on one side or the other. If flows out of the Rio Ojo Caliente are 550 cfs or higher properties near and below the confluence with the Rio Chama may encroachment of water onto land immediately adjacent to the river along with bank erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:15 PM MDT Sunday the stage was 4.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 4.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to remain steady below flood stage at 4.8 feet. - Action stage is 4.8 feet. - Flood stage is 5.4 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood &&

Impacts can include bank erosion and damage to wells and septic tanks.
