A National Weather Service Jackson storm survey team will be
dispatched today to continue the damage assessment across northern
Forrest County around Petal in southeast Mississippi. The damage
assessment from the survey team will be relayed via our webpage
and social media pages as the information becomes available.

NOAA all-hazards radio station kih-47, transmitting out of Melba
on a frequency of 162.475 mhz, is off the air. We have contacted
technicians to fix the problem, and they are working to resolve the
issue.

During the outage, persons across the listening area will need to
tune to commercial radio or television outlets for the latest
weather information.

The latest weather information is also available at our website,
at http://www.Weather.Gov/Jan.
